Our favorite moose recipes? That's a question we are asked a lot. You see, we have family dinner every Sunday night that comprises of, on average 12 family members or close friends attending.
Please join with us as we share some of our favorite moose meat recipes and hopefully you will do the same. There are not many places where you can find a great selection of recipes using moose meat as the base.
Moose is a member of the deer family (the largest member actually), therefore any venison recipe will make a wonderful dish. All of our moose recipes can be used with venison and as with most game recipes, beef can also be substituted and your creation will be just as delicious!
In a day where most of us purchase our meat already cut and wrapped, we explore (cook and eat) the true organic meat.
We harvest our own and we know where it comes from. No longer are we subjected to chemically enhanced, growth hormone injected meat. Moose meat, truly healthy. As such we love to share.
We are foodies, we love to gather to talk and laugh, to share stories of the past week and compare plans for the future.

On occasion we are asked about grinding moose meat. People ask if they should add beef or pork fat, or remove the moose fat. In our opinion you should not add any fat when grinding to make mince, as well we usually remove or trim most of the moose fat off.
We like our meat lean. Adding fat can always be done when preparing to cook and most fats will cause your meat to go rancid quicker than if you didn't add it at all (before freezing).
A really good meat grinder is required when grinding your own too. You don't want to be struggling with a machine that constantly jams or stalls.
Moose meat is an excellent ingredient for the making of sausages and salami, it keeps well and it's healthy. We have a few choice butchers in our area where we get various items made.
Need some tips on how to prepare your moose meat before you cook it? Preparation starts in the field and ends in the kitchen, be sure and read our important tips regarding moose meat.
If you are wanting to put more moosemeat in your freezer this coming winter, then you should really check out our Ultimate Guide to Moose Hunting. With hundreds of tips, tricks and techniques to help you find moose, the contents of the books will help to bring your success rate up.
It doesn't matter if you are a photographer or a hunter, apply ideas in the book and the moose will be easier to find and get close to for that shot of a lifetime.
