What's the best way to cook sausage?..they are mixed with pork already..nothing fancy, just the easiest way.




Cooking Moose Sausage in the Oven

I don't know if this is the "Best" way to cook moose sausage, but it is certainly easy.

I cook moose breakfast sausage or moose dinner sausage in a Cast Iron Pan in the oven. Preheat your oven to 350 F and place your pan containing the moose sausage in the oven. 20 - 30 minutes and they'll be done. Turn once during cooking.

Simple and Easy! Not to forget to mention DELICIOUS!

Two of the great things about using and cooking with Cast Iron (We recommend Lodge Brand Cast Iron) is the ease of clean up and the avoidance of cooking with plastic.

You may wonder what I mean by that? Cooking with plastic is not good. All that chemical transfer into your food is not good for you. In our kitchen we are moving away from using Teflon pans and reheating foods in the microwave in plastic. In the micro, glass is preferred.

Moose meat is not to be made into sausage in our house. Here is the only way I tell my sons it is to be done.
1. Practice with your bow
2. Hunt
3. Make a clean kill shot
4. Cut up meat
5. Label all cuts STEAK grind the rest for burgers
6. Make sausage out of chickens and beef but NEVER MOOSE!

Unless you're eating that meat without any seasoning you're guilty of the exact same thing you're accusng him off, which is a war on sausages apparently? What kind of a elitist/purist gives someone shit for making sausage out of their own kill?

If your moose was good, why not eat it as is without mixing it with sausage ingredients? When I package moose meat, every thing is labeled STEAK and cook accordingly, for breakfast the most high price meal is steak and eggs.
Bottom line don't degrade the best meat in the world by making breakfast susage, stick with steak from organic meat plus eggs and spuds.
